Bank Street School

Bank Street School accommodated boys, girls and infants. Towards the end of 1964 and the beginning of 1965, most of the children transferred to the two new primary and infant schools being built, at that time, on the Higham Lane estate in the north of Tonbridge.

First, the Junior School was transferred to Woodlands County Primary School, Higham Lane Estate, and for a term, only the Infant Department remained at Bank Street. Early in 1965 the Infants joined the Juniors and the building at Bank Street ceased to be a school. It was the end of an epoch.
