Hats for Haiti

Don't forget our ‘Hats for Haiti’ day tomorrow.

We are asking the children to donate £1 to the Earthquake Appeal so that they may then bring in a hat that they have made at home to wear in school. The girls from 6R will also be running a charity stall at lunchtime in aid of the Appeal. Thank you for your support with this.

4FD's Class Assembly

On Tuesday the whole school were treated to the 'Horrible History' of Tonbridge. Class 4FD took us through the history of our town, right from the first cavemen to pass this way. The children performed beautifully and everyone remembered their lines and cues. We were delighted to have so many parents, friends and relatives in the audience. Thank you to everyone who was involved in making this assembly the success it was.

School Information pages

The school information pages of our website have been redesigned by Miss Ridger and Miss Barrow. They are now completely up-to-date and very easy to navigate. Do have a look – we think that they look fantastic (particularly the portraits of the teachers!). Thank you to both Miss Ridger and Miss Barrow for all their hard work.

Coldest Day

St Hilary's feast day on 13th January has gained the reputation of being the coldest day of the year due to past cold events starting on or around this date.
One of the most severe winters in history began around 13 January in 1205, when the Thames in London froze over and ale and wine turned to solid ice and were sold by weight.

Fun in the snow at Woodlands

Great fun was had on Wednesday as the children enjoyed playing, running and making snowmen in the snow.

Children enjoyed making snowballs....

...and even the teachers couldn't resist a snowball fight.....!

Many congratulations to "Alberto" and 6R who won the class snowman competition.

Woodlands Junior and Infant Schools are OPEN!

Despite the snow, both the Infant and Junior Schools are open this morning. Please ensure that your children have appropriate warm clothing with them as we hope to spend some time playing on the school field.

Welcome Back!

A very warm welcome to the new term (and Year) to everybody. It has been lovely to see such enthusiastic children returning to school after the Christmas Holiday.
Just to remind parents and carers that most school clubs will start next week apart from: Netball Years 3/4 (Thursday); Junior Choir (Mrs Wallis) and the MSporti Clubs - which all start this week. Rugby will start if the ground thaws out - look out for a message from Mr Childs in your child's bag.

A few comments from visitors to our website.
"I am an American citizen and astounded by your wonderful website! It is not only informative but kept so up to date that I constantly refer to it, especially the calendar. The pupils of your school are indeed lucky and the site reflects the dedication and enthusiasm of the staff and students. I hope the site continues for many years." Charles, USA, Atlanta

"Surely, this is of the very best school websites on the entire internet.
It is engaging, informative, visually most attractive, entertaining and surely a prime model for the many thousands of other schools to emulate!
Sincere congratulations and many thanks."
