Policemen became to be known as " bobbies" after Robert Peel who founded the police. Bobby is short for Robert.


What is the age limit for a teenager to get a part-time job?

If you are under 13, then you can't work - its the law!!!

From 13 - 16, teenagers are not allowed to work in a night-time job, or for more than a few hours per day. They can however, find jobs in small working environments, eg: delivering newspapers, that only last for a few hours everyday, after school or at weekends.


Which British poet has his own special (national) day?

The Scottish poet, Robert Burns has his special day on 25th January, when all the Scottish people celebrate his great work.
