Martin Luther King Day - 15 January
Martin Luther King is probably the most famous person associated with peace, this civil rights leader was the youngest person ever to receive a Nobel Peace Prize. He is remembered by many for his famous speech:

"I have a dream
that one day this nation will rise up,
live out the true meaning of this creed:
we hold these truths to be self-evident,
that all men are created equal......"

Martin Luther King is remembered and honoured with a national holiday on the third Monday of January; his actual birthday falls on January 15.
