Roman VillasThe term villa is normally used to describe a property or estate in the countryside, usually associated with farming. A number of Roman Villas have been discovered near transport routes such as Watling Street in North Kent, or river valleys such as the Darenth Valley in West Kent. |

Lullingham Roman Villa is an outstanding example of a Roman villa. Nestled in the Darent Valley in Kent, it was clearly the home of a rich and well educated family.
The villa had a sophisticated bathing suite, underfloor heating and intricate mosaics of mythological scenes which can still be seen today 2000 years after they were laid down. |
