Church buildings are places where Christians meet for services in which they worship God together.

Altars
A table, often with a cross standing on it, on which the bread and wine and placed for the service of Communion

Fonts
The basin used to hold the holy water for baptism (sometimes called Christening).

Pulpits
A raised platform in church from which a sermon (religious lecture) is preached. The word comes from the latin word pulpitum which meant platform or stage.

Stained glass windows
Beautiful windows made of stained or coloured glass.

Lecterns
The reading desk or book stand from which the bible is read in church. Its name comes from the word Legere, which is Latin for to read.
