On 21st November 2012 our year 5 pupils went to The Royal Observatory, Greenwich to enjoy a day of space and planets such as Earth, Saturn and Jupiter.
The Meridian Line
The Meridian Line is a line to show latitude. If you stand with one foot on either side of the line, one part of your body is on the east and part on the west!
There was also a magnificent view to see nearby – you could even see the Olympic stadium and the Cutty Sark! We were all amazed!
The children loved being inside the only planetarium in London! Don’t worry if you have no idea what a planetarium is- everyone was pretty confused as well! Aaron in 5B said”It was really exciting and when we went in the planetarium it made me feel like I was in space!”
It was a very enjoyable trip.
