BrastedClick to see a map of this area. The infant river Darent flows besides houses through the village of Brasted. Like other villages on the River Darent, Brasted had a watermill.
The village was dependant on the river until recent times. You can see the narrow passageways between some of the cottages that gave access from the road to the Darent to water livestock and draw water for the houses.
