A pictorial guide to the River Thames

London - Millennium Footbridge

The Millennium Footbridge is a pedestrian-only steel suspension bridge connecting the Shakespeare's Globe to St. Paul's Cathedral. It opened on 10 June 2000 as London's first new bridge across the Thames in London since Tower Bridge in 1894.

Unfortunately it was closed immediately after its official opening because it wobbled! It has now been fixed and is safe again to cross.

Tate Modern Gallery

Housed in the former Bankside Power Station, Tate Modern displays the Tate collection of international modern art from 1900 to the present day, including major works by Picasso, Matisse and Warhol as well as work by other artists.
