The River Thames
From Source to Sea

IngleshamInglesham is the site of a lost village where only the 11th century church and a farm remains. The redundant church on a mound was saved from over-restoration in the 19th century by William Morris, who loved its simplicity and box pews. |

Traces of wall paintings cover most of the walls. These date from the 13th to the early 19th centuries, often with one painted over another, in places seven layers thick.
