"This programme focuses on the popular website set up by Woodlands Junior School in Tonbridge.

The website was created by ICT consultant Mandy Barrow when she was a teacher at the school and is attracting tens of thousands of visitors every day from around the world."

Screen shots and quotes from the programme

"From this cramped corner of a small room in Kent a global impact is being made. Here a teacher-turned-advisor is reaching out worldwide to hundreds of thousands of people. Mandy Barrow is responsible for a school website that's become an international phenomenon."

"Mandy's cyber creation became a monster, with 11,000 pages of ideas, information and entertainment. It's regularly in the top ten of UK education websites alongside the BBC and the Times Educational Supplement. Woodlands has become a popular point of reference on British customs, an important resource for both pupils and teachers."

"How long did the Romans stay?"
"And the Romans are considered quite cool as well."

""It's put Woodlands Junior School at Tonbridge in Kent on the map"

"Type British culture or British life into Google, it's not the British Tourist Authority, the British Council or the BBC that comes out on top, it's Woodlands school in Tonbridge."

"Other tributes come on postcards, which apart from making an impressive display, are useful in the classroom."

"Not surprisingly the site has stimulated the teaching of ICT."
"We're trying to send our book reviews to Miss Barrow."

"This video is also destined for the website. It's a remake of "Pirates of the Caribbean".

"The school has started a computer club for girls, to encourage them to get involved in ICT. In this after-school session, they're creating dance routines and then performing them in the hall."
