The School Day
The pupils go to school from Monday to Friday. The school days start at 8.00 am and finishes at 2.00 pm. They have a 30 minute break time in the morning, as well as having a 15 minute break between lesson during the afternoon.
The lunch break lasts for half an hour. The pupils get a free meal every day, so they do not have to bring their own packed lunches to school.

Subjects
The compulsory subjects are maths, Finnish, religion, history, civics, environmental studies, biology, geography, needle-work, handicrafts, art, music and PE.

The children can also choose from a variety of workshops. The workshops vary from term to term but have included subjects such as computers, surfing the Internet, newspaper, nature, history, library, stones, pottery, puppet theatre, felting, music, basket ball, orienteering, skiing, electronics, English or German and ice hockey.
